This course focuses on the basic and general outline of creating an environment as used in illustration and concept design for the video game and film industries. There will be a firm focus on creating thumbnail and final illustrations, composition, value studies, perspective and digital painting techniques in Photoshop.
Week 1: The basics of composition perspective and values.
Week 2: Full value painting and lighting.
Week 3: Concepts for environments.
Week 4: Paintover of previous weeks assignment.
Week 5: Basics of color.
Week 6: Concept design project.
Week 7: Review of thumbnails.
Week 8: Final review.
