The Dying Planet

The Dying Planet is a set of planetary models depicting various states of decay.  From a thriving Earth like ecosystem, through dry and deserted terrains and onto volcanic erupting canyons.There are three stages of decay, each with four different variations.  Different types of atmosphere shape the overall look of each option bringing 12 total planet styles.All of the 12 different options come in both 16k and 8k resolution with adjusted mesh density and VDB complexity to make things less intensive when you need it.Base mesh is an optimized sphere with uniform polygons to make the displacement maps more efficient.  Along with the special spherical shader, this planet model aims to fix common issues by resolving texture distortion common in traditionally UVed spheres.An included HDRI in 16k and 8k resolution fills the surroundings with stars and provides dramatic lighting, with the included render presets adding the finishing touches through tone mapping.
